YEMEN: Military action near Hodeidah City threatens food supplies for millions of children

Save the Children is deeply worried for the welfare of 4.2 million children in Yemen on the brink of starvation following reports that the Yemeni Army, backed by the Saudi- and Emirati-led Coalition, has launched airstrikes outside the port city of Hodeidah, effectively shutting down the main artery linking the port city to the rest of the country.

Children may be forced to flee again as Idlib offensive looms

Hundreds of thousands of Syrian children who have already been forced to flee their homes once are facing a second devastating onslaught amid reports that preparations are being made for an offensive on Idlib province.

Many children who suffered loss and trauma during earlier attacks on Eastern Ghouta, East Aleppo and other hot spots sought refuge in Idlib, only to find that they are now at renewed risk from a potentially deadly escalation of the conflict.

Urgent de-escalation needed near Gaza border, Save the Children warns

Over the past couple of days, we have seen a severe and deeply dangerous escalation on the Gaza-Israel border, with reports of dozens of casualties on both sides.

More than 180 rockets and mortar shells from Gaza have hit Israel, with 11 reported injuries including one woman with serious injuries. Gaza was hit more than 200 times throughout Wednesday night and into Thursday.
